Query Package Consistency Check
Send your query package with the facts lined up.
The Query Package Consistency Check compares your query letter, synopsis and opening pages for factual contradictions, so you can send them with confidence.
We confirm fit and next steps before you share any files.
In 1968, widowed Clara Voss has petitioned to move her niece there for the school year, and the orchard’s fate rides on the answer.
Her brother-in-law has other plans.
On 16 September the petition had been prepared. It would be filed with the St. Louis County Court before the end of the month.
She folded it into her coat and went out to count the late pears.
Why it matters
A small mismatch is easy to miss and easy to avoid.
Your letter says one thing, your synopsis another, and the opening pages a third. You’ve read them too many times to notice. We compare them for you, so you can send the package knowing the facts agree.
What we compare
The facts your package states, side by side.
Your query letter
Title, genre, word count, premise, names and facts as the letter states them.
Your synopsis
What happens, to whom, and when, checked against everything else you’ve sent.
Your opening pages
The excerpt an agent will read first, compared against the claims made about it.
Example finding
Every finding shows its sources.
You see the exact words from each document, where they appear, and what to decide next.
Example from a made-up manuscript. Not a real submission.
Filed, or not yet filed?
The synopsis describes the petition as already made. The opening pages say it would be filed later that month. This may be intentional, so it’s marked “to confirm”, not “must fix”.
“has petitioned to move Clara there for the school year”
“the petition would be filed with the St. Louis County Court … before the end of the month”
What you receive
A short report you can act on.
- Any differences between your documents, each quoted with its location
- Measured facts such as stated length and word counts
- A short list of what to decide next
What it is, and isn’t
A consistency check, not an edit.
This is a focused consistency check, not an edit or exhaustive manuscript review. It can flag contradictions it can verify from the files you provide, but it may not catch every issue.
It doesn’t cover editing or critique of your writing, market fit, comparable titles, agents or publishers, or any prediction of representation or sales. A report that lists no conflicts doesn’t mean your package is free of them.
A full refund is available before processing begins. After processing begins or the report is delivered, payment is non-refundable except if we fail to deliver the agreed service or materially fail what we agreed in writing.
Please don’t email manuscript files. We’ll explain how to share material.
